The Sacred Treasure – www.rihla.co.za
“This (Qur’aan) is a (clear) declaration for mankind, and guidance, and a lesson for the God-fearing.” (Al Qur’aan 3:138)
Islam is a religion founded on divinely revealed principles. In order to understand these principles and the application thereof, one must first be acquainted with the Sacred Texts from which Muslims draw moral, spiritual and religious guidance.
The world over, Muslims are approaching the Divine Word of Allah Ta’ala with mixed intentions and often, pre-conceived notions. On the one end of the spectrum, a part of Muslim society believes in sticking to the literal commands of the Qur’aan without any room for interpretation whilst on the other extreme, there are those who believe that every single divine principle is to be subjected to logic and rationale.
“The Sacred Treasure” provides an in-depth exposition of the principles of Qur’aanic interpretation, the relevance of Qur’aanic Law in modern society as well as the practical application of Islamic Law in changing societies.
At Ar Rihla, we pride ourselves in maintaining an extremely close link with authentic scholarly works which is evident in all our lectures, courses and course materials.
