‘… But the evil plot does not encompass except its own people…’ [Fatir: 43]
Do not wish bad for anybody, do not harm or be jealous of somebody, and never plot or mislead another person in order to secure a benefit for yourself. Most certainly, Allah `azza wa jall will turn the tables and loss will be the only thing remaining with the plotter. Sometimes issues are made clear to us after some time and it’s then we realise that those who we previously wished well for are actually the ones who may have wished ill for us. Subhan’Allah, how feeble and insecure is the slave of Allah.
I still admire the statement of Waki’ ibn Jarrah when he said, ‘The intelligent one is he who understands the Ways of Allah, not him who has understood the ways of this world.’
When you harm another person, or plot and plan against them, or cause rifts between people, you can be sure that the effects of all you do will come round and encompass you. This is a Sunnah of Allah `azza wa jall, because He has a Decree and He has a Divine Plan so whoever tries to meddle in it will find himself to be at a loss and deprived of what he seeks. Is the true champion not he who is championed by his Lord and the true failure not he who fails to act upon his principles?
Let’s try and wish good for each other, be content with our portions in life and not constantly look to what others have. Look at the good you have in your own lives! Thank Allah for everything He gives you, instead of always wishing for what may not happen.

‘And (I seek refuge in Allah) from the evil of an envier when he envies.’ [al-Falaq: 5
May Allah protect us from all acts of ignorance and may He unite the hearts of the believers and remove malice from them. O Allah, forgive us for our shortcomings, help us forgive others when they hurt us and save us from all fitan. Amin
