just wondering how they got the skin. any wildlife guys get into this.
for the ulamah. can one walk on these socks for a long distance without them braking. waterproof is not the only thing necessary for mash. they have to be durable & the add doesnt say much about that.

AzharSalaams,
Let me clear up a few misconceptions
The product is called SEALSKINZ – is does NOT contain any skin in it. The reason it is called that is because of the waterproof nature of a seal’s skin – a metaphor.
The socks have been passed by various ulema according to the conditions of mozah –
1. They must prevent water from entering
2. They must be above the ankle
3. They must be durable enough to walk 1 mile in it without it tearing.
The socks fulfill all the conditions and are being worn by the following ulema to name but a few :
1. Ml Shabir Saloojee – Darul Uloom Zakariyya Park
2. Ml Fazlurahman Aazmi – Darul Uloom Azaadville
3. Mufti A.K Hoosain – Channel Islam International
4. Mufti Zubair Bayat – Darul Ihsan
5. Ml Tootla – Stanger
6. Ml Junaid Hassim – Mayfair West
7. Ml Yunus Moosa – Al Islaah Publications

AzharWs,
Females can wear it as well
You can make tawaaf with these socks when you are NOT in ihram
There is a Walking Sock that is padded and provides cushioning when walking in the haram as per the picture. That is much more comfortable

YasinI’ve worn these socks and while they are very practical for use at work they do tend to smell a bit after a days use unlilke the traditional leather socks. This is especially the case if you are on a long journey and you intend to wear the socks for more than 24 hours upto the 3 days allowed.

AzharI’ve sold quite a bit so far and it was used by alot of the ulema at the recent KZN Ijtima for the duration of the weekend with no complaints from anyone.
I guess everybody’s feet are different.
